The Startup District of Austin along with Microsoft and TechSet are sponsoring our very own BizSpark Launch Event on November 20th at Speakeasy downtown.
If you looked at the price of development software you realize how expensive it can be to equip all of your developers. We no longer want that to be a hinderance to you developing great web based solutions and in the original spirit of what Microsoft was founded on we are providing some long overdue "entrepeneurial love" for the startup community and its name is BizSpark. Ignition :: The BizSpark Launch Event The Startup District has had a great reception to thier news of becoming a BizSpark Network Partner, and they have already signed up several startups. On November 20th, there is a fantastic event coming up that will celebrate Austin startups, and Microsoft’s new BizSpark program.It’s called Ignition, and it’s going to be at the Speakeasy on November 20th from 7pm - 10pm. It is presented by the Microsoft Startup Zone, the TechSet, and StartupDistrict. The event will bring together 10 of the best startups in Texas, each will give attendees 20 slides at 20 seconds per slide. Announcing the Dallas Innovation Roundtable for Incubators, Bootstrappers, Angels, and VC!
As an organization that nurtures and supports entrepreneurs, you are cordially invited to an exclusive Incubator Roundtable. The objective is to share ideas and insights among Texas startup incubators and to start a dialog around how we can jointly improve the success rate of local software entrepreneurs.
Microsoft recently made significant investments in the startup ecosystem via Microsoft BizSpark [press release]. We are looking to further enable the local startup ecosystem and look forward to engaging you in dialog.

Today we are launching Microsoft BizSpark, an exciting new offering that will enable software startups to leverage Microsoft development and platform technologies to deliver Next Generation Web and Software + Services applications.
The Offer: Microsoft BizSpark is designed to accelerate the success of early stage startups by providing access to software, support, and visibility
· Software: fast and easy access to Microsoft’s current full-featured development tools, platform technologies, and production licenses of server products for immediate use in developing and bringing to market innovative and interoperable solutions with no upfront costs and minimal requirements
· Support: professional technical support from Microsoft (MSDN) and community support from BizSpark “Network Partners” around the world who provide a wide range of support resources for software startups (e.g., entrepreneur incubators, associations, & investors)
· Visibility: global visibility to an audience of potential investors, clients, and partners. Startups will have the opportunity to complete a profile in the online Startup directory (BizSparkDB) which highlights promising companies, including the “BizSpark Startup of the Day”
Eligibility: BizSpark will be available to startups that fit the following criteria:
· A private company building a software-based product or service (not intended for consultants/SIs or customers/enterprises)
· In business for less than 3 years
· Less than $1M in revenue
· Nominated by a Network Partner or sponsoring member of Microsoft (feel free to contact me)
